All kinds of beautiful….

Today I went to a lovely place called Olbrich Botanical Gardens to see a Spring Flower Show….it was beyond beautiful and a wonderful way to beat the last bit of winter hanging on here in Wisconsin…it’s been so dreary here…it’s been foggy, rainy, cloudy…well you get the picture. Anyway, it was a pleasant way to see what is on the horizon here when spring finally comes….The temps will warm up and the sun will hang around to make flowers grow and bloom.  I don’t know how people can be so incredibly artistic and make such beauty with different flowers but it was beyond amazing and a warm welcome of things to come. Olbrich is a wonderful place to visit and is open all year round….It’s a place I go to several times a year to feel inspired by different plantings and just to see nature at its finest. On top of that, it’s free!  T

here are certain events like today that there is a small fee but it’s totally worth it. I actually became a member today so I will get in to see some of these special events in the future absolutely free!  Here is the website if you want to read more about it and visit Olbrich some day.

I have another reason for loving Olbrich Botanical Gardens and it involves my mom…She passed away 2 years ago tomorrow but this was one of her favorite spots to visit and I went with her many times to see all of the gorgeous plants and flowers there. I think it inspired her to plant some of the things she did in her planting beds and in turn it gives me the same inspiration. I thought about her so much today while I as there and know she would have loved the beauty of the flowers that were there.

I’m looking forward to warmer weather, more flowers and sunshine. Happy Sunday and Happy Spring!

I’m a 50 something woman who has lived my whole life in the Midwest and love the change of seasons here in Wisconsin- I also love to spend time with my family and friends, listen to live and recorded music, read, write, hike, cook, bake and of course drink wine.
